Miniaturization of Holtzman shield technology, and advanced construction methods allows for a missile to support its own limited shielding system. Current models allow a personal-type shield, though with greatly enhanced power, to be mounted on Antimatter and Krellium missiles. The Holtzman shield will deflect most incoming projectiles, (Except those coming in at slower than 3 cm/s relative to the missile.) until the power supply is depleted. The shield is still of the Holtzman type, which means that contact by laser will result in subatomic fusion, with the feedback destroying both shielded target and weapon, with additional damage possibly occurring.
Missiles can also be equipped with only shields and no payload, allowing them to be used as "Holtzman Mines" which, when fired upon by lasers, will also cause the feedback phenomenon to occur.
