Bio-regenerative armor: With the first generation of biomechanoid vessels came a problem: While the skin of the vessel was quite tough and able to withstand the vacuum of space while maintaining a breathable atmosphere inside, it offered little in the way of protection against capital ship weapons. In order to combat this, heavy armor plate was installed on the bio-mechanoid warships. However, this armor plate severely impeded maneuverability, so another answer was sought. Finally, Mrrshan scientists developed an incredibly dense skin-like material, and incorperated it into their next generation of bio-mechnanical warships. This skin-armor is an ablative-type armor that can regenerate itself in a matter of seconds through the healing powers of its host vessel.
